10 Ways to Rock a Productive and Sensational Monday

Oh, joy! It’s Sunday. And if you’re like me, you’re already thinking about the week ahead. So what’s the best way to use Sunday to have a productive Monday? Here’s our top-10 tips. You’ll save a bunch of time and be totally prepared for a productive week.

For Your Body

Schedule your workouts. Take a quick peek at your calendar and work out how many workouts you’d like to achieve this week, what type, and when you have time. I love Orange Theory Fitness for HIIT, so I schedule my classes based on my commitments. This week, I’m taking two classes during the week in the evening (before I pick up the kids from their activities) and two on the weekend. It’s a good idea to listen to your body (I love using my Oura ring to check my readiness levels) to make the most of the workout and make sure you push harder on days where your body is feeling good and taking it easy other days.

Plan your meals and prepare lunches. Use Sunday to prepare a meal plan and if you have time, make some meals ahead. I love the Instant Pot to prepare meats on the weekend and then refrigerate them for lunches or easy dinners. Preparing lunches is a huge time saver and is one of the best ways to have extra time in the morning so that you can fit in your morning routine. The Everygirl has 20 delicious make-ahead lunches here.

Pamper yourself. Pop on a face mask, deep condition your hair, and run a bath. Use Sundays to leave deep conditioner on under a shower cap and let it sit for up to an hour. Give yourself a blowout so that your hair is in good shape for Monday morning. Relax with your favorite face mask or even give yourself a facial massage with a gua sha tool or jade roller.

For Your Mind

Choose Monday’s outfit. Or even better. Choose your outfits for the entire week, check that everything is clean and you have the right accessories. When you wake up, it’s one less thing to think about and gives a great jump start to the day.

Write down your three big goals. Writing down your goals helps prioritize so you have confidence that you’ll have a productive week.

Review your calendar. Take 10 minutes to look ahead at your calendar and appointments. I find that the best way to get a good night’s sleep on Sunday is to know that Monday is going to be an easy day. That my calendar doesn’t have conflicts or that I won’t be rushing. Taking a look at your calendar can actually take pressure off when you know Monday is all organized.

For Your Home

Get groceries. Whether you prefer home delivery (I love the convenience of Amazon Fresh or Prime Pantry) or enjoy walking down the grocery store aisles, use Sunday to grab your groceries, tidy the pantry and organize the refrigerator. If you’re like me, it can be challenging to find new recipes every week. Try looking at cooking blogs and Pinterest for healthy and inspiring meals, and new food ideas.

Do laundry. Trust me when I say this, but there’s nothing better than finishing the laundry and putting it away on Sunday. Ah, clean sheets and towels. And using detergents that smell great (or even better, applying essential oils to wool dryer balls) makes sliding into your bed on Sunday night something to look forward to.

Tidy up. As a mom of three, there’s nothing that makes me happier than to put away “stuff”. Whether it’s shoes, clothes, or just clutter. Finding a spot for everything to have a home keeps my space organized. And it’s not just on Sundays. This is a great daily habit, so that things don’t get overwhelming.
